Guantánamo is the easternmost province in Cuba. Its capital is southeast of the island over the margins of the Guaso River. This city was the core of sugar and coffee some time ago.
Founded by the beginnings of the 19th century, Guantánamo still preserves a lot of the French architecture. It is 30 km from the Caimanera port, located in the Guantánamo Bay where the US have a naval base known as Pearl Harbor of the Atlantic.
To the north is a beautiful city: Baracoa, first villa founded by conqueror Diego Velásquez. The access to this city is by ground, through viaduct La Farola.
