Los Caneyes offers its own unique image resembling a Taino (indigenous inhabitants) village. "Los Caneyes" is the Taino name for their round cottages. Considered the nicest hotel for miles around, it is located 2 km (1 m) from Santa Clara city, among eucalyptus, coconut and palm trees. It has all the required comfort and provides spa-like services. The nice swimming pool is next to an open-air bar and games room. There's also a small gym, and small beauty station where massages are offered. The restaurant serves simple buffet meals, like Cuban chicken and pork with rice and black beans. Most of the rooms are housed either in large, round, six-unit structures or in individual bungalows. This hotel is very good as a stopping point for some nights between different cities. It is popular with tour groups so advance reservation is recommended. Hunters can practice in the Hunting Lodge and bass fishing lovers can fish in Alacranes dam, the island's second largest Reservoir.
