Los Frailes
Enigmatic, intimate, comfortable; cross the threshold of its door, kept by one of its copper fria ...
In the very historic centre of Bayamo, the recently renovated Hotel Royalton is preferred for its combination of nice accommodation and excellent gastronomy. It is located in the old quarter, just west of Parque Cespedes, and dates back to the 1940s. The Hotel Royalton is the home of legends and history rooted in a city rich in traditions and adventures since the time of its founding in 1513 by Governor Diego Velazquez. It is the birthplace of the National Anthem and the famous patriot Carlos Manuel de Cespedes. The town was burnt to the ground just before it was taken by the Spanish during the struggle for independence. The first slaves to be freed on the island were given their liberty at a site close to the city.
